What the assessment considers
Jurisdiction is one input among several. The review may consider:
- legal structure;
- directors and beneficial owners;
- industry and business model;
- products and services;
- operating jurisdictions;
- customer jurisdictions;
- expected counterparties;
- source of funds;
- expected transaction activity;
- acquiring relationships;
- regulatory or licensing requirements.
Two companies registered in the same country can receive different outcomes, because the other inputs differ.
Why "where are you registered" is not the whole question
For a payment service, the corridors matter as much as the registration. A company registered in an accepted jurisdiction that collects from and pays into markets the service cannot support is a different proposition from one that does not.
Describe both: where the company is registered, and where its customers, suppliers and acquiring providers actually are.
Complex and higher-risk cases
More complex industries, ownership structures and payment flows may require enhanced review and additional documentation. Each case is assessed on its individual facts, and a willingness to review an application does not imply that it will be approved.
Frequently asked questions

We are a non-EU company. Can we apply? Yes, subject to supported jurisdictions and compliance approval.
Our owners are in a different country from the company. Does that matter? It can. Ownership and control are part of the assessment.
Can availability change after approval? Yes. Legal, provider and risk changes can affect what remains available.
