What an MSB registration covers
The registration records that the company is registered to offer the service categories listed above, and it brings the company within Canada's anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorist-financing framework.
That framework is the reason 2PayApp verifies companies and their owners, screens for sanctions and politically exposed persons, reviews source of funds and monitors transactions on an ongoing basis. Those checks are obligations, not preferences.
What it does not cover
An MSB registration does not:
- authorise deposit taking;
- act as a banking licence;
- constitute approval, endorsement or a recommendation by FINTRAC;
- guarantee any particular service, currency, payment rail or limit;
- extend to services 2PayApp does not itself perform, such as card acquiring;
- replace the separate registration held with the Bank of Canada.
Verifying the registration
Check the legal name 2PAYAPP LIMITED and the number M23468538 in the official FINTRAC Money Services Business Registry. A logo, a marketing page or a search-engine result is not verification.

Frequently asked questions
Is 2PayApp a "licensed MSB"? The accurate description is registered, not licensed. Registration and licensing are different things.
Does the registration mean FINTRAC checked the product? No. Registration is not an assessment or approval of the service.
Does the Virtual Currency category mean 2PayApp is a crypto exchange? It is one of the registered service categories, and it supports the corporate crypto exchange offered to eligible legal entities. It does not make 2PayApp a bank or an investment service.
Can the registration status change? Yes. Verify the current status in the official registry rather than relying on a cached page.
This article is explanatory. The official FINTRAC record prevails over this summary.
