What each currency is used for
EUR — receive and send eligible euro payments through SEPA, SEPA Instant or SWIFT. Typically customer payments, supplier payments and commercial invoices within and beyond the SEPA area.
GBP — manage pound sterling and send eligible UK domestic payments through Faster Payments.
USD — receive or send eligible US dollar payments through ACH or SWIFT.
Holding three currencies in one account
Balances in EUR, GBP and USD can sit in one business payment account, so a company receiving in one currency and paying in another does not need a separate platform for each flow. Currency exchange may be available between supported pairs, subject to the applicable rate, fees and service availability.
What is not implied by a currency being supported
- Support for a currency does not mean every direction is enabled. Incoming and outgoing are separate configuration items.
- Support for a currency does not mean every rail for that currency is enabled.
- A currency enabled for one customer is not evidence that it is enabled for yours.
