Why identifiers are not automatic
An account identifier is part of the approved configuration, like currencies, rails and limits. It follows the review of the company, its flows and its counterparties — not the choice of a plan.
A company that receives settlements from four acquiring providers has a clear reason for several identifiers. A company with one incoming flow generally does not, and asking for identifiers without a use case slows the review rather than speeding it.
How to ask for what you need
State the use case, not the quantity:
- how many acquiring providers or platforms pay you out;
- how many stores, websites or entities the payments belong to;
- which currencies each flow arrives in;
- whether the flows must be reported separately.
The configuration then follows from something verifiable.
What to do while you wait
Use the account details actually shown in your account. Do not publish or send an identifier to a payer before it is confirmed, and do not change a settlement instruction with an acquiring provider until that provider has confirmed it can pay out to the new details.
